They can play a significant role in informing the transformation of food systems, making them more sustainable, resilient, equitable and respectful of nature. The rich histories of indigenous peoples reveal their intrinsic relationship with the plants, animals, waters, and lands in their territories and demonstrate their capacities for resilience and adaptation to social, economic, environmental, and climatic changes through time. Given the scope and work of the Global Hub on Indigenous Peoples’ Food Systems, this three-hour Independent Food System Summit Dialogue is being convened to discuss how the main findings from ongoing research on indigenous peoples’ food systems can serve as key “game changers” to support the work of Action Track 2 on healthy and sustainable consumption patterns. Key areas of collaboration and policy convergence at the global and regional levels between the AT2 and ongoing work under the Global-Hub institutions will also be discussed. Official feedback from the Dialogue will be published on the Gateway shortly after the event.
</oembed>
