</script><iframe sandbox="allow-scripts" security="restricted" src="https://summitdialogues.org/dialogue/16241/embed/" width="600" height="338" title="“Improving the health and nutritional status of school children in Kuwait” — Food Systems Summit Dialogues" frameborder="0" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" scrolling="no" class="wp-embedded-content"></iframe>Improving the health and nutritional status of school children in Kuwait After submitting the report of the first national dialogue on sustainable food systems organized by the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition in Kuwait on 30/03/2021, it was recommended focusing on the nutritional status of the age group 6-19 years in Kuwait. For more than two decades, public health professionals in Kuwait have expressed their concern regarding the rising trend in overweight and obesity in children ,the prevalence based the on National Nutrition Surveillance data reached a rate over 25%, thus requiring an immediate and robust actions to prevent the rising trends of this age group. Kuwait has adopted the recommendations of the United Nations Action on Nutrition 2016-2025, and the recommendations of the World Health Organization to combat childhood obesity – from pregnancy to the end of the school stage – to prevent and control risk factors. As for the current situation of the Covid- 19 pandemic, research has shown that individuals with overweight and obesity are at very high risk of morbidity and mortality. It would be a golden opportunity to work side by side with related sectors to develop food systems that will ensure food safety and achieve sustainable food and nutrition security. Accordingly, we plan to invite all concerned government and private sectors, civil society, and relevant non-governmental organizations, students, academia and activists for the second dialogue to discuss and evaluate the current situation to identify challenges and weaknesses and adopt workable action plans with specific targets and realistic goals. تحسين الحالة التغذوية والصحية لطلبة المدارس في الكويت بعد نشر تقرير الحوار الوطني الأول للنظم الغذائية المستدامة الذي نظمته الهيئة العامة للغذاء والتغذية بتاريخ 30 مارس 2021، اتفقت الآراء على ضرورة التركيز على الحالة التغذوية للأطفال والشباب للفئة العمرية من 6-19 سنة بدولة الكويت منذ أكثر من عقدين من الزمن والمختصين بالصحة العامة في دولة الكويت يقرعون ناقوس الخطر بسبب استمرار ارتفاع مؤشر زيادة الوزن والسمنة لدى أطفال المدارس بنسبة وصلت الى أكثر من 25%، استنادا على أدلة وبيانات موثوقة (نتائج برنامج الترصد التغذوي الوطني)، مما يستدعي أكثر من أي وقت مضى، اتخاذ إجراءات حاسمة لمنع تطور زيادة الوزن والسمنة لدى هذه الفئة العمرية ولقد تبنت دولة الكويت توصيات الأمم المتحدة خطة عمل من أجل التغذية 2016-2025، وتوصيات منظمة الصحة العالمية لمكافحة السمنة لدى الأطفال – من مرحلة الحمل وحتى نهاية المرحلة المدرسية – بالوقاية من والتحكم بعوامل الخطورة المؤدية لها والحد منها وفي ظل الظروف التي نعيشها الآن، أثبتت الأبحاث والدراسات العلمية شدة خطر الإصابة بكوفيد -19 عند المصابين بزيادة الوزن والسمنة ونظرا لما لدينا من فرص مثالية، من خلال العمل جنبا الى جنب، للمشاركة الفاعلة في مؤتمر قمة الأمم المتحدة لأنظمة الغذاء والالتزام بإنشاء أنظمة غذائية توفر الغذاء الآمن وتساهم في تحقيق الاحتياجات التغذوية بشكل مستدام وصحي وبأسعار مدروسة. وعليه فقد أرتأت الهيئة العامة للغذاء والتغذية في دولة الكويت دعوة كافة الجهات الحكومية والخاصة والمجتمع المدني وجمعيات النفع العام وطلبة المدارس والمؤسسات الأكاديمية والنشطاء أصحاب العلاقة بالاضافة الى ممثلي المنظمات العالمية والمنظمات الغير ربحية ذات العلاقة لهذا الحوار بهدف مناقشة وتقييم الوضع الحالي للتوصل الى خطة عمل واستراتيجية عملية ذات أهداف محددة وواقعية لاصلاح الخلل وتعديل الوضعhttps://summitdialogues.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/شعار-دولة-الكويت-1.jpg
