A number of international and regional experts with extensive knowledge in the right to food and expertise in food systems and monitoring mechanisms at the international and national levels will give interventions while focusing on the role of youth in promoting the Right to Food. This conference will attempt to introduce the right to food from an international human rights perspective, give an overview of the situation of the right to food in Lebanon, and highlight the role of youth in promoting the right to food. Additionally, it will provide the know-how to monitor the right to food in order to guide policymaking, explain the essential tools and indicators for an effective monitoring framework; and highlight the engagement of youth, international organizations, governments, non-governmental organizations, and other actors in monitoring and promoting the right to food. The conference is organized as a part of the UN Food Systems Summit dialogue and in the context of International Youth Day. It will be held on the KUDO platform where panelists will present their interventions in English and Arabic. Simultaneous interpretation in Arabic and English and sign language will be available. The facilitator will be asking a series of specialized questions that would trigger a discussion and upon which the speakers’ interventions will be based. All participants will be able to interact with the speakers and ask questions via the chat box.
