In addition to raising awareness among civil society and the local inhabitants regarding the sustainable food systems challenges such as food security and food waste, the Dialogue intends to identify linkages, overlaps and gaps between the existing programs related to these topics, as well as to create new synergies and partnerships at the city level.The Independent Dialogues are part of the 2021 United Nations Food Systems Summit with the aim of developing ways to actively engage various stakeholders in the upcoming UN Summit. These dialogues encourage active conversation between diverse local stakeholders including local policymakers, to devise crowdsourced sustainable solutions to strengthen local and global food systems.
