The North American Expert Member of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII), Geoffrey Roth, is calling the second-round listening session with Indigenous Peoples of North America in preparation for the UN Food Systems Pre-Summit and Summit. The second listening session is a follow-up to the first session held in December 2020, the “High-Level Expert Seminar on North American Indigenous Peoples’ Food Systems”. The focus of this session will be to consolidate actionable recommendations from North American Indigenous Peoples for the country delegations and the UN Food Systems Summit Secretariat to act upon in the planning and preparation of the Pre-Summit (July) and Summit (Sept). This North American session is one of the regional and global sessions organized by and for Indigenous Peoples to advance their political and technical inputs and engagement in the 2021 UN Food Systems Summit.
