How to ensure food systems environmental sustainability in the long term? Challenges and opportunities from a triple perspective: Circular Economy, Climate Change and Natural Capital

As our discussion will focus on the environmental sustainability in the food systems, we would want to structure the Dialogue around 3 fields of work that could help to bring solutions. More precisely, we expect to tackle: (1) Circular Economy linked to food waste across the value chain, (2) Climate Change consequences in the food systems, and (3) finally capital natural protection and conservation through agricultural systems.

We will invite a wide range of stakeholders (Foretica’s member companies of the food sector or working closely with it, public sector key actors as the Ministry of Agriculture or the Ministry of Environment and Non-governmental organizations – FAO, Spanish food bank, etc.) and split them into three roundtables so each actor will have an opportunity to participate and present the challenges and opportunities they are encountering.

The outputs of this Dialogue will be submitted via the official feedback form in order to contribute to the Food Systems Summit in September.
