Description
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), in cooperation with representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the United Nations Agencies in Viet Nam, international partners, research institutes, universities, businesses, associations and stakeholders, organizes the First National Food System Summit Dialogue virtually. This is an important event to prepare for Viet Nam to participate in the UN Food Systems Summit 2021 which will be held in September 2021.
In preparation for this event, MARD will conven virtually, on behalf of the Government, 2 national dialogues and 3 sub-national dialogues between 15 June and 15 July. The cross-cutting topics in such dialogues aim at building transparent – responsible – sustainable food systems of Viet Nam.
The First National Dialogue focuses on two main issues: (i) current state and problems in the food systems of Viet Nam; and (ii) opportunities, solutions and actions to transform food systems towards transparency, responsibility and sustainability by 2030.
