Description
As we close the UN Food Systems Summit 2021, we would like to continue the momentum of these important topics for the society and the planet. We believe that the engagement from multiple stakeholders on a regional and country level is essential.
This forum aims to discuss the most crucial agenda of the food systems for Southeast Asia, particularly Malaysia and Singapore. This series of Independent Dialogue will examine:
- General Overview
- Food Loss and Waste
- Positive Nutrition
- Plant-based Foods
- Sustainable Sourcing
Food loss and waste is present in every stage in the food value chain, from the primary source to the end consumers. From a business standpoint, this may be an opportunity cost. In addition, food loss and waste remain to be a major contributor to the greenhouse gases. Meanwhile, 9 million people are dying annually due to hunger and related diseases. The Sustainable Development Goal has called for halving the Global Food Waste per capita at both retail and consumer level reducing food losses in the food supply chain by 2030.
Panelists from different sectors have been invited to share their viewpoints on the strategies on tackling food loss and waste in both Malaysia and Singapore.
Join us virtually as the experts explore the possible partnership to accelerate these changes. The audience will have the opportunity to contribute to the discussion and to the vision of the Summit.
