First Sub-National Dialogue in Satkhira

First Sub-national Dialogue was held on 25 February 2021 in Satkhira. In this dialogue programme, Md. Abdul Kayowm Sarker, Chairman, Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA) and Additional Secretary of Bangladesh Government has been participated as the Chief Guest, whereas, District Commissioner, Satkhira participated as the Chair. Representatives from Ministry of Food, FPMU and BFSA have also participated in the Programme. Key note paper has been presented by Mr. Mostafa Faruq Al Banna, Associate Research Director, FPMU, Ministry of Food. After the presentation, participants have been divided into 4(four) groups considering food systems components. Four groups are: i) Availability of diversified, safe and nutritious Food, ii) Transformation, delivery, access and role of private sector, iii) Consumer behaviours, Nutrition and Food Safety, iv) Climate Vulnerability, Inclusion and Governance. Representatives from Government Agencies, Academia, NGOs, Private sectors, Civil Society and Farmers Organizations from Satkhira have been participated in the Dialogue. Ministry of Food and BFSA have jointly organized the dialogue programme. UN-FAO and GAIN provide technical supports.
