Enhancing the role and contribution of Private Sector in Improving Nutrition

To further explore the role of private sector to improve nutrition through food systems, the World Food Programme (WFP) Cambodia in close collaboration with the Cambodian Food Manufacturers Association (CFMA) and the Council for Agricultural and Rural Development (CARD) will organize an in-depth discussion on enhancing the role and contribution of private sector to improve nutrition in Cambodia. The dialogue will bring together about 35 to 40 key stakeholders Cambodian food value chain. The discussion will be centered around how to strengthen the role of private sector through:

1) product development and innovation;

2) Demand generation and understanding of consumer behavior & decision making;

3) Quality management, packaging & food safety systems; and

4) Promotion of nutrition and healthy diets within the retail setting.
