Description
Based on a 2020 SWS survey,
1 in 5 Filipinos are hungry.
Metro Manila is the hungriest at 23%
In response to the ongoing hunger crisis, we invite government representatives from select Metro Manila cities and anyone with an interest and capacity to create positive change in their communities, young or old, to come together and solve the problem of urban hunger in Metro Manila.
Despite the pandemic, what has been happening in our cities?
Throughout the past year and a half, there have been stories of modern day heroes–big organizations and ordinary citizens–stepping up to face the problem of hunger. Listen to a few of these projects and ideas from the inspiring doers and thought-leaders on how we could address the problem of hunger.
Using what we know now, how do we bring this together?
What happens next is a collaborative session between government representatives and citizens facilitated by urban planners from JLPD to revisit the current map of select Metro Manila cities. We hope to come out of these brainstorming sessions with a working plan to solve urban hunger.
#GoodFood4All: Food Systems to address Urban Hunger is an online dialogue organized as an Independent Dialogue under the United Nations Food Systems Summit (UNFSS). The UNFSS is an initiative of the United Nations to launch bold new actions to achieve healthier, more sustainable and equitable food systems.
