Description
The Australian Research Council Discovery Project, Strengthening Food Systems Governance at the Local Level – Sydney University, Wollongong University and William Angliss Institute, together with Sustain: The Australian Food Network, warmly invite you to participate in this Victorian Independent Food Systems dialogue to explore key challenges and opportunities facing Victoria’s food system now and in the coming decades. With the ongoing impacts of COVID-19 as well as intensifying non-linear climate change revealing significant vulnerabilities in our food system, the need to engage in collaborative discussions across sectors to strengthen food system governance is vital.
Event Details & Information:
This will be an all-day event, with the dialogue taking place in the morning, to be followed by a food systems research and practice workshop in the afternoon, featuring representatives of VicHealth sharing about their Local Government Partnership program as well as members of the ARC team presenting findings from the food systems mapping and case study work conducted in NSW and Victoria from 2019-2021.
The morning session has been designed to encourage a diverse and inclusive discussion among all food systems participants.
The ARC Discovery Project and VicHealth presentations in the afternoon session will focus on Local Government involvement in food systems change. We suggest this session is ideal for Local Government Council employees and stakeholders.
For those who cannot attend in person or who prefer to attend remotely, we have an online attendance option.
