Description
The World Food Prize New York Youth Institute at Cornell University engages high school students, educators, and local food systems experts to explore and solve community-level, national, and global food systems challenges. To participate, students research and write a paper on a global challenge related to food insecurity. Students present their ideas to industry experts, and take part in immersive, hands-on experiences that drive them to explore the diversity of food and agriculture-related fields.
The New York Youth Institute is jointly hosted by the World Food Prize Foundation (www.worldfoodprize.org) and Cornell University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (www.cals.cornell.edu), with the support of Cornell University Department of Global Development, New York 4-H, and New York FFA. The institute bringing together industry, research, teaching, and applied agricultural practice to meet the educational and workforce needs of tomorrow.
