Description
A transformation of food systems, and the policies and actions governing them, is urgently needed to deliver healthy and sustainable diets for everyone, everywhere. The transition from a food system that harms people and the planet, to one that is resilient and nourishes all people will require coordinated action at multiple scales and tailored to local conditions. This first independent Food Systems Summit Dialogue to be held in Norway is designed as (1) an opportunity for participants to hear from UN Food Systems Summit (UNFSS) and Action Track 2 representatives on the UNFSS process as well as other national and international food systems actors, and (2) an open and safe space for Norwegian stakeholders from government, the private sector, academia, civil society and others to share feedback on the Action Track 2 solution propositions in the context of Norwegian food systems transformation. Breakout sessions for this event will be conducted in Norwegian and will address the importance of a just transition in animal husbandry and agriculture, the power of food markets, marketing and procurement, and the importance of access to affordable and healthy food for all, among other things.
