Description
The Independent Dialogue in Lebanon on food systems aims to provide a comprehensive and engaging platform for participants to share views, roles, experiences and perspectives on challenges in the Lebanese food systems and how to make then healthier, inclusive and sustainable. Proposals at the discussion will be presented to the World Food Systems Summit scheduled in September.
The dialogue is organized by the UN System in Lebanon, including various UN agencies: FAO, WFP, ESCWA, UNIC Beirut and UNIDO, under the patronage of the UN Resident Coordinator Ms. Najat Rochdi and Lebanese MP Inaya Ezzedine. Discussions will focus on Action Track 1: Ensure access to safe and nutritious food for all; Action Track 4: Advance equitable livelihoods and Action Track 5: Build resilience to vulnerabilities, shocks and stress. This is in addition to a special session by youth groups on innovation and technology.
