Description
To support the outcomes of the UN FSS this national dialogue will address how the food system can be reset from fork to farm based on scientific knowledge and innovation along the following questions:
- What needs to change so that we are producing and consuming sustainable and healthy diets in 2030?
- How can innovation lead us to a healthier and more sustainable food system, for Switzerland and for the rest of the world? What kinds of innovation should be prioritized?
- How to best leverage an innovation ecosystem?
The dialogue will start with a panel discussion where high-level thought leaders will share their insights and experience. Participants will then break out into smaller topical groups to engage actively with each other and explore concrete options for transforming food systems. The topics foreseen include (i) nutrition and affordability; (ii) good health and wellbeing; (iii) industry, innovation and infrastructure; (iv) climate action, responsible consumption and production; and (v) plant-based diets.
The online dialogue will specifically focus on the role that innovation can play in the food system transformation with relevance to the Swiss and global context. The learnings and outcomes from the dialogue will be summarized and published in a report to drive action.
