Description
Seth Itzkan, Cofounder and Co-director of Soil4Climate Inc. – a global network of scientists, farmers, politicians and concerned citizens advocating for soil as a climate solution – will be sharing the findings of Group B of the Sustainable Livestock Solution Cluster of the United Nations Food Systems Summit (UNFSS) while he is in Glasgow, Scotland, to attend proceedings related to COP26, the 26th Conference of Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
Group B found that the proper management of livestock is essential to restore soil carbon sufficient to mitigate global warming, while, simultaneously, creating improvements in grassland ecology and providing complete protein for human consumption.
The Group B paper is titled “Grazing for Soil, Climate and People: Innovative Approaches to Livestock Management that Restores Ecosystems, Mitigates Global Warming, and Enhances Food Security.” It is available for download here, and on the UN Food Systems Summit Sustainable Livestock Solution Cluster webpage.
