Description
The vision of the United Nations Food Systems Summit is to transform the way we produce, consume and think about food, so that healthier, more sustainable and more equitable and resilient food systems are created, which is essential for achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda.
Our Dialogue focuses on the key role that the pork sector must play to achieve these food systems, all from the approach of triple sustainability: economic, social and environmental. Throughout this Dialogue, we will ask ourselves how to include meat in sustainable food diets, how to continue producing quality foods that guarantee being able to feed a growing population, producing more with fewer resources, more efficiently, leaving no one behind and guaranteeing food security at all times. Also, we will address how the pork sector influences the territories where it is located, mainly in rural areas. In addition, we will propose how to carry out truthful communication, based on science and that conveys to the world the reality of the men and women who strive every day to feed the planet while respecting the environment.
This third INTERPORC’s Dialogue is open to all those who wish to participate, and aims to bring together varied profiles, both from inside and outside the sector, to discuss the reality of the pork sector and how to overcome future challenges, so that we remain competitive and supplying the world’s population with the highest quality products in an increasingly sustainable manner.
