Description
For far too long , the ‘rules’ of South Africa’s food ecosystem have been written by and to the advantage of an elite group of organistaions. Unfortunately however, to the detriment of a large number of inhabitants of the country. For years we have understood that these written (and sometimes unwritten) rules have contributed to the broken food system. The effects of the Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the pressing need in transforming the way in which our food systems currently work.
This dialogue will bring together stakeholders across various sectors to discuss how we use systems thinking to change the ‘rules of the game’. Topics will include but not limited to, agricultural policy, accessibility to affordable and nutritious food, leveraging technology and the use systems thinking. With the aim of providing solutions that will ensure that every stakeholder in the agricultural value-chain, from farmer to consumer, has an equitable share in the system.
