Description
Chefs are at the heart of the global food system. They bridge the gap between farm and fork. They influence what we grow, what we put on our plates and how we think and talk about food. If chefs take a lead on food systems issues, diners, farmers, business and even government will follow.
Having taken a leading role in narrowing the roadmap of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for chefs, via the Chefs’ Manifesto Thematic Areas Action Plan and the Chefs’ Pledge survey, the dialogue will serve to provide space to discuss practical actions chefs can take to enact positive change for food systems. The aim is that by learning from the data collected from the survey, dialogues can occur that will focus on what information has emerged as global trends amongst chefs, in the form of practical actions. From the information gathered, a chefs’ pledge will be curated, and chefs will be invited to commit to the pledge as part of food systems transformation.
