BIID Foundation propose to facilitate Smart Skills for the adolescents and youth by setting up a well-equipped Nutrition Academy. BIID already conducted several Design Camps as a part of Nutrition Olympiad activities which demonstrated the impact of such engaging interventions (Field visit, interaction with community and understanding agricultural works) to influence the participants. They also conducted a Nutrition Challenge Badge (NCB) program of Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of United Nations where students were engaged to complete a set of activities and finally the successful students were awarded the Badge & Certificate.
BIID jointly with partners is organizing the 3rd Independent Summit Dialogue titled “Smart
Skills for Adolescents and Youth on Nutrition” Nutrition Academy: Smart Skills for
Adolescents and Youth in Bangladesh, on June 23, 2021 over Zoom at 10.00 am – 12.00
pm (BST) and 6.00 am – 8.00 am (GMT).
The dialogue outcome will focus on developing an institutional outline of Nutrition
Academy in consultation with relevant stakeholders. The dialogue will also highlight the
components of the proposed Nutrition Academy which are Curriculum, Operational
Framework & Partnerships, Strategic Alignment with National Nutrition Goals & Activities and Resource planning.
All relevant stakeholders including students, teachers, government, development
agencies and experts will be invited in the dialogue.
The 2 hour’s session will have 3 components, first 30 minutes will be briefing and opening
remarks, next 45 minutes will be breakout session (3 Themes – Context, Challenges,
Solutions) with specific agenda led by Facilitators and final 45 minutes will be group
presentations, feedback and way forward.
